After the avalanche of declarations of the international community and the Congolese population condemning the occupation of part of the province of North Kivu, including the city of Goma by the Rwandan army. Now is looking for voices for exit from the crisis for the final return of peace to this region.

On Monday 03 February 2025, the president of the National Assembly, Professor Vital Kamerhe and that of the Senate Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, accompanied by their respective rapporteurs exchanged around the methods of the organization of an extraordinary session to rule on this situationNational emergency in accordance with the instructions received from the head of state Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo during the hearing granted to them the day after the inter-institutional meeting held on Monday, January 27 at the City of the African Union.

After this meeting, the rapporteur of the National Assembly, Professor Jacques Djoli, announced that the two chambers of Parliament were officially seized by the President of the Republic and consequently, the presidents of two chambers of the Parliament decided to convene separately,An extraordinary session on Tuesday February 04, 2025 at 2 p.m. to rule on the subjects below:

  • Examine the security situation in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and propose a plan to leave the crisis on the political and diplomatic level
  • and the oath, in accordance with the law, of the judges of the Constitutional Court appointed by the President of the Republic

Returning to the Conference of Presidents of the National Assembly, the speaker of the lower room of the Parliament said that the question being safe and very important for the country, the offices of two chambers of Parliament decided that these two plenary sessions arewill hold eight-closers.

Despite the climate of tension, this plenary will be an opportunity for the elected officials of the people to bring their proposals to the supreme authority, guarantor of the nation His Excellency Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi, in the search for the ways and means to bring peace final in the country.
