This is what was noted in a declaration from parliamentary assistants of the 4th legislatures of the third republic received in our editorial office this Thursday, January 2, 2025 in Kinshasa.
Indeed, here is the entire statement
“We, the Collective of Parliamentary Assistants of the 4th Legislature, regret to announce to national and international opinion the mistreatment of which we are victims at the hands of the office of the National Assembly chaired by our genitor father, honorable Vital KAMERHE.
Indeed, in accordance with article 115 of the Internal Regulations of the National Assembly, Parliamentary Assistants are appointed as soon as the final office is installed, in this case on May 20, 2024.
Unfortunately, to this day we have still not been named. The same applies to the thorny issue of service cards to be granted to Parliamentary Assistants to identify them and allow them easy access to the People’s Palace.
Furthermore, article 69 of the same Rules of Procedure provides that “during the Extraordinary Session, national deputies receive a bonus equivalent to their monthly emoluments and various bonuses.
It is the same for members of cabinets, administrative staff and assistants to deputies…”. To our great astonishment, we have just had a Congress and an Extraordinary Session without the Parliamentary Assistants recovering their dues while everyone, including the cleaners, has been served.
We deplore this policy of double standards within the second institution of the Republic.
To do this, we require the following:
- the appointment of parliamentary assistants; clearance of arrears (March, April, May and December 2024);
the payment of bonuses for the December 2024 Congress and the Extraordinary Session held in the same month;
payment of the 13th month;
- medical care; In short, all the advantages are ours by right.
