This is announced by the International Forum Nasser the end of individual interviews with Egyptian candidates applying for the fifth promotion of the Gamal Abdel Nasser stock market for international leadership.
This step precedes the announcement of the final admission results to this fifth edition, scheduled for next May, under the theme: “Egypt and the United Nations: 80 years of representation of the issues of the South Global”, and placed under the high patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sissi,President of the Republic. About 150 young leaders from around the world from various executive fields, as well as young influential civil society actors worldwide, should participate in this edition.
Dr. Ragaa Magdy, a graduate of the fourth promotion of the International Leadership Stock Exchange Nasser and a member of the interview management committee for the fifth promotion, said that the number of Egyptian candidates amounted to around 215, including 122 men and 93 women. The individual interviews took place after a rigorous selection of the application files, in accordance with the criteria previously defined by the Stock Exchange. These criteria include gender equality, an equitable geographic representation of all the governorates of the Republic, as well as the inclusion of people with disabilities. After evaluation, 75 candidates were selected for end interviews: 40 men and 35 women, from various academic and professional horizons, illustrating a significant geographic diversity. Ms. Magdy stressed that this step is an exemplary model of transparency and objectivity in the selection of young executives capable of representing Egypt in international forums, in line with the vision of the State in the empowerment of young people and women.
Ahmed Mokhtar, a graduate of the second promotion of the scholarship and member of the interview management committee, said that the questions posed focused mainly on the experience of candidates in the fields of public action and volunteer, as well as their knowledgeRegarding the scholarship itself: its history, the meaning of its name, its slogan and its sponsorship by the United Nations. Interviews also addressed key concepts such as South-South cooperation and the non-aligned movement, while assessing the societal conscience of candidates, their understanding of political news and their vision of state management of national issues. M. Mokhtar insisted that these interviews are part of a thoughtful approach aimed at selecting an elite capable of representing Egyptian youth with a local and international level.
Salma Tawfik, a graduate of the Stock Exchange and head of international marketing, has revealed that the detailed statistics of candidates for the fifth edition bear witness to a remarkable diversity in terms of nationalities, continents and age groups. The scholarship has attracted young leaders around the world, East Africa being the most represented region after Egypt. The African continent leads the total number of applications, followed by Asia, Europe, South America, North America, as well as Australia and even Antarctica. In total, 93 different nationalities are represented, with a distribution of 60 % of men and 40 % of women, which reflects both the cultural and geographic wealth of the program, as well as its clear commitment to parity.
Hassan Ghazaly, researcher in anthropology and founder of the Nasser International Forum, concluded by affirming that these data testify to the growing influence of the Stock Exchange on the international scene and its central role in the attraction of young people around the world, eager to participate in itsLeadership training programs. This contributes to the construction of cooperation bridges and the exchange of experiences between future leaders of different origins. He also recalled that the publication of these statistics is part of a transparency process and reflects the success of the scholarship in its mission of fair representation of all Egyptian regions, affirming its position as an international dialogue andcooperation between young leaders.
It should be noted that this fifth edition of the Nasser International Leadership Stock Exchange coincides with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Bandung conference, a historic event which deeply marked the political structuring of the Global South.
