To this end, a dispatch arrived this Wednesday, February 27, 2025 in our editorial staff, which notes that the training which is baptized in the name of the late journalist Mohamed Mounir, who died during this month in-cours, and was held 3 days under the sponsorship of the Daily News Africa newspaper, with theParticipation of a distinguished group of speakers specialized in the field of journalism and media only of Arabic -speaking Sudanese journalists who reside in Egypt.

The researcher in anthropology and international activist Hassan Ghazaly, founder of the “AFOMEDIA” initiative, said that this training was entirely free and that it bore the name of the late journalist Mohamed Mounir, who worked in the Al-Gomhouria newspaper.

He stressed that Mohamed Mounir had left a striking imprint in the field of journalism and the media, being recognized for his hard work and his sincere patriotism towards Egypt and his belonging to Africa and to the Global South. Through his numerous journalistic works on Africa, he highlighted the pioneering role of Egypt on the continent

Ghazaly said that the training, which took place over three days, covered several important subjects. The first day was hosted by journalist Ahmed Mahmoud, editor -in -chief of the English version of the Ahram Online site, who approached the theme of “digital journalism”, journalist Mohamed Samir, editor -in -chief of Daily News Africa, who presented “Ahram Online’s experienceAnd Daily News Africa “and Dr. Ayman Adly, president of the training and awareness committee of the media union and member of the Union of African Journalists, who discussed” essential skills of a good journalist “.

The second day, the interventions were as follows: the investigative journalist Mohamed Magdy Abou Zeid dealt with “the use of artificial intelligence to detect disinformation through images and videos” and journalist Mohamed Mallouk, editor -in -chief of the chiefCAIRO 24 site has shared its experience on “the use of artificial intelligence in journalism”.

On the third day, conferences were led by Dr. Osama al-Qadi, long-standing expert in journalism, university education and media training, which presented a subject entitled “Tools of artificial intelligence in the creation of contentMedia “and the international journalist and trainer Iman al-Warraqi, founder of the Artificial Intelligence Revolution Intelligence, which addressed the theme:” Artificial creativity: Artificial Intelligence Strategies and Techniques for Innovative Content “

During the closing ceremony, the participants expressed their gratitude to the Egyptian state and the AFOMEDIA initiative. They received their certificates and the trainers were honored. As a sign of cultural fraternity, the participants organized a banquet composed of the most tasty Sudanese and Egyptian dishes, thus illustrating the richness of the cultural and social bond between the two peoples. In addition, in a warm atmosphere, they spontaneously sang in chorus the famous song of the late Dr Abdel Karim al-Kabli, “Misr Ya Ukht Biladi ya shakiqa” (Egypt, sister of my country, my sister), on rhythms inspired by Nile.

It should be noted that the Afomedia initiative carries the slogan “The voice of Egypt … The voice of Africa”. It is part of the global solidarity network and was founded by the researcher in anthropology Hassan Ghazaly in February 2021. The initiative aims to strengthen journalistic and media relations between Egypt and African countries, to develop the skills of media professionals so that they convey a realistic image of Africa, and to promote cooperation between peoples via the media. It aspires to be a bridge of communication between the Egyptian people and the other African peoples, by coordinating efforts and by unifying the media message between Egyptian and non -Egyptian Africans. She also works to train and educate media and journalism professionals in Egypt on African content in general.
