The President of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Professor Vital KAMERHE, has been since Tuesday January 21, 2025 in the dynamic city of CAN THO, VIETNAM to participate in the Meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie.

As is customary during his travels, the Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament is committed to making the voice of the DRC heard, a country which is suffering the consequences of an unjust and barbaric aggression orchestrated by its neighbor, Rwanda. .

Upon his arrival at CAN THO, the President of the National Assembly, accompanied by Rapporteur Jacques DJOLI, spoke with his Moroccan Counterpart, Rachid Talbi Alami.

These very constructive exchanges allowed the two Authorities to address several issues of common interest including those related to security and socio-economic issues between the DRC and MOROCCO.

It has become clear that these two Nations, under the leadership of their respective Heads of State, share a common vision on many crucial subjects.

On the security front, Rachid TALBI ALAMI strongly condemned the war of aggression of which the DRC is the victim. He stressed the importance of international solidarity in the face of such atrocities and human rights violations.

Regarding economic issues, Vital KAMERHE and Rachid TALBI ALAMI agreed on the importance of developing a sustainable economy, focused on transformational industry. This approach aims to strengthen local capacities and promote inclusive development that benefits the entire population.

Their discussions also focused on essential themes such as gender equality and youth empowerment. The two Brotherhood Countries expressed their commitment to promoting initiatives that support these fundamental values, recognizing that the future of their societies rests on inclusion and equal opportunities.

Vital KAMERHE and Rachid Talbi Alami reaffirmed their common desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas, emphasizing the importance of a solid and lasting partnership to face contemporary challenges.

This meeting illustrates not only the commitment of these two nations to work together for a better future, but also their determination to defend the principles of peace, security and sustainable development on the African Continent.
